Cerrillos Turquoise

Madrid, New Mexico is the heart of the Turquoise Trail. The community is populated by artisans and eclectic shops. The "Turquoise Trail" is highway 14, running from Tijeras, NM to the outskirts of Santa Fe.

Its Racing Season!

Kickin' Ass Ranch

Driving New Mexico 14 - the Turquoise Trail - this "ranch" caught my eye.  Even turned around to catch a couple photos.

Pecos National Historical Park

The large structure in this photo was the Mission building.  Other "walls" are remnants of the pueblo structures.  These are the newest structures on the site.  There are other (older) ruins at other parts of the site.  The park is located East of Santa Fe along I-25.

Pecos National Historical Park also includes Forked Lightning Ranch - formerly owned by Academy Award-winning Greer Garson and her husband E. E. "Buddy" Forelson.  Near-by is the site of Civil War Battle of Glorieta Pass.  The ranch and battlefield are part of the Park, but not normally open to the public.

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

Two images taken during a visit to this National Monument.  Tent Rocks is approximately 15 miles off I-25 between Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

One of the 27 dishes of the Very Large Array radio telescope.  The array is located about 50 miles West of Socorro, NM.
